WELCOME TO DENVER METRO
This guide focuses on Denver’s city neighborhoods and urban core. The broader metro area offers very different settings; compare the South Metro, Boulder and Foothills guides before narrowing your search.
Start with the details that shape your day: the home itself, your route to work, parking, outdoor space and total ownership costs.
Housing and ownership
Compare detached homes, townhomes and condominiums by layout, condition, maintenance responsibilities and usable space—not a citywide label. For an association-managed property, review dues, reserves, insurance, rules and proposed assessments. Before planning a renovation, verify permits, zoning and any historic designation.
Getting around
Test your complete trip in RTD’s trip planner using the property address, destination and travel time. Check the walk to the stop, transfers and return trip. If driving is part of your routine, visit during relevant traffic periods and inspect parking arrangements yourself.

Places to explore
Denver Union Station combines a central meeting place with dining and nearby transit connections. Denver Botanic Gardens offers gardens and a changing program of events.
Coors Field is the home of Rockies baseball. Empower Field at Mile High hosts Broncos games and other events. Check each venue’s visitor information before going.
Proximity to a venue can be a benefit and a tradeoff. Visit surrounding streets during an event and on an ordinary day before deciding what works for you.
Before you decide
Confirm schools by property address directly with the district; the Colorado district directory is a starting point. Compare relevant listings and recent comparable sales rather than assuming one Denver-wide number describes every home.
